President Jonathan Visits Super Eagles At Training Ground

President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday stormed the National Stadium, Abuja, where he urged members of the national football team, the Super Eagles to ensure that their encounter with Lone Stars of Liberia in Moronvia on Saturday was a huge success.

The Super Eagles who are undergoing training at the Abuja Stadium will be meeting with the Liberian national team in a qualifying match for the 2013 African Nations Cup, South Africa 2013.

Jonathan implored the players to work hard to ensure they do well in the match, saying sports was strategic in his administration's agenda and promised that he would revamp the sporting sector.

According to the president, he has already set up a special committee at the Federal Executive Council meeting earlier in the day to work towards restoring the lost glory of the country's sports.

Calling for a replay of the Atlanta 1996 Olympics Game in which the country carted away gold medal in football, Jonathan expressed belief that Nigeria could still win gold in that category and others in subsequent Olympics.

Lamenting over the poor state of the stadium which was overgrown with weeds at the time of his visit, Jonathan directed the management of the stadium to correct the anomaly immediately.

Footballer Emmanuel Emenike dating two Nollywood actresses

Spartak Moscow of Russia and Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Emenike is dating two Nigerian actresses and this is authoritative. One of them is the very sexy fast rising actress Victoria Egbuchere (pictured on the left with Emmanuel) and the other one is controversial actress Nuella Njubigbo.

Nuella Njubigbo is currently in Russia to see her 25 year old boo who she met a while back via a mutual friend. The same mutual friend also introduced the footballer to Victoria who got a promise ring from him and an invitation to Russia. Heard Victoria is also preparing to go see her man in Russia in the coming weeks.

If the ladies didn't know they were dating the same man...well, now they know. Long live LIB! lol. Let's see who gets the man...! :-)

Don Jazzy kinda agrees Eedris Abdulkareem paved the way for the rest of them

Naija's got talent:24-year-old Nigerian undergraduate builds working helicopter from junk!

A 24-year-old undergraduate from Nigeria is building helicopters out of old car and bike parts. Mubarak Muhammed Abdullahi, a physics student, spent eight months building the yellow model seen here, using the money he makes from repairing cellphones and computers. While some of the parts have been sourced from a crashed 747, the chopper contains all sorts of surprises.

The 12-meter-long aircraft, which has never flown above a height of seven feet, is powered by a secondhand 133 horsepower engine from a Honda Civic. In the basic cockpit there are two Toyota car seats, with a couple more in the cabin behind. Controls are simple, with an ignition button, an accelerator lever to control vertical thrust and a joystick that provides balance and bearing. A camera beneath the chopper connected to a small screen on the dash gives the pilot ground vision, and he communicates via a small transmitter.
Mubarak says he learned the basics of helicopter flying through the internet after he decided it would be easier to build a chopper than a car. Flying his creation is easy, he claims. “You start it, allow it to run for a minute or two and you then shift the accelerator forward and the propeller on top begins to spin,” he explains. “The further you shift the accelerator the faster it goes and once you reach 300 rpm you press the joystick and it takes off.”
Undeterred that his home-made transporter, which lives in a hangar on campus, lacks the gear to measure atmospheric pressure, altitude and humidity, Mubarak is working on a new machine which “will be a radical improvement on the first one in terms of sophistication and aesthetics.”
A two-seater with the ability to fly at 15 feet for three hours at a time, Mubarak’s new creation will be powered by a brand-new motor straight from Taiwan, normally found in motorbikes.http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/WelcomeToKemmyOkpakasBlog/~3/yipewZ_nPng/naijas-got-talent24-year-old-nigerian.html

Michael Clarke Duncan: a gentle giant

Many of us are genuinely sad over the death of Michael Clarke Duncan.
He wasn't the most high profile star in Hollywood, but thanks to that massive frame but surprisingly gentle demeanour, he was one of the most instantly recognisable. A gentle giant.

Duncan is most famous of course for playing John Coffey in 'The Green Mile'. Frank Darabont's stately tearjearker earned Duncan a Best Supporting Actor nomination at the Oscars, and his performance was described by film critic Roger Ebert as "both acting and being".
"The goodness of Coffey… is embodied by Duncan".

While promoting the movie, Duncan told CNN about his days working as a ditch digger for a gas company during his 20s.
His co-workers would call him "Hollywood" because of his dreams of being a movie star. "I'd be digging a ditch and they'd say, 'Hey, man, Bruce Willis wants to talk to you about a movie.' And they'd just crack up laughing."
"Those co-workers had no way of knowing how that joke would turn on them."
As fate would have it, Duncan became good friends with Willis and it was playing Bear alongside the 'Die Hard' star in 'Armageddon' that first brought him to a mass audience. On his website, the film's director Michael Bay paid tribute to Duncan… by admitting he almost fired him.
"He cried at the first audition because he was so proud to audition for a "Michael and Jerry movie", he just wanted to make his mom proud. We gave him the role in the room.
"[But on] His first day on 'Armageddon' he sucked.
"I remember looking to Ben Affleck and thinking we might need to fire him. But I told him 'Mike, I hired you for you, I want the sweet, Mr. Clarke Duncan I met in that room'. I said, 'the audience is going to fall in love with you'. He looked and smiled with [his] deep voice and said 'Ok'. From then on out he became the most improved actor on the set. That was the award he got at the end of the film. Everyone loved him, his infectious spirit and great belly laugh."

Duncan would appear with Willis on three further films ('Breakfast Of Champions', 'The Whole Nine Yards' and 'Sin City'), but it was the 'Die Hard' star's phone call to Frank Darabont, after reading the script for 'The Green Mile', that helped seal Duncan's place in Hollywood history.
Duncan said: "Bruce told me, 'Michael, I've just read this script and you are this guy John Coffey. I just know it.'" [via the L.A. Times]. He said the part was a 'a gift from God.'
Perhaps Duncan's essential goodness that came across so clearly in 'The Green Mile' was shaped by a tough upbringing in Chicago's south side. Brought up his single mother Jean, Duncan resisted the temptations of drugs and alcohol and instead focused on school and acting.
His mum would pull him aside when he was a little boy and tell him, "You're going be a big star when you grow up."
When he did make it, Duncan told CNN: "I think she's been crying ever since I made it to Hollywood. She's been the greatest inspiration in my career. She's the one."
According to his IMDB page, Duncan would give five dollars to anyone who recognised him on the street and knew what his full name was. Possibly apocryphal, it still speaks volumes about a man who was obviously one of the nicest guys in the business, but also - unlike many stars - constantly aware just how lucky he was.
